There are four generations of Boeing 737 aircraft:

The second generation of 737s, including the 737-300, -400, and -500, which were launched in 1979.
The third generation of 737s, including the 737-600, -700, -800, and -900, which were launched in 1993. The 737-800 is the best-selling model in this generation.
MAX
The fourth generation of 737s, including the 737-7, -8, -9, and -10, which were launched in 2011. The MAX-7 will replace the 737-700, the MAX-8 will replace the 737-800, and the MAX-9 will replace the 737-900ER.
The 737 is one of the most popular commercial aircraft in the world. The different variants of the 737 have been developed to meet customer demand and to improve the efficiency of the aircraft.
